Texas Journal
We're back again! Wooohooo! For this journal, we're taking you guys to learn about what makes Texas distinctive from every other state. Texas has its own unique style of speaking English AND its own style of cuisine! Ths is our second to the last journal, so enjoy it while you can!
Let's kick off the third journal with its unique speaking style. Often times, you hear people in Texas say, "Howdy, mate!" or "How's you doin?" This is the Texan dialect- a special form of language that is used by a specific group. Texas speaks the Southern English but it's often said that they speak the Southern English with a slight twist. The Texan English started to develop in the late 1800s, making itself about 200 years of age. What makes Texas stand out from other states is that they have developed their own style of language, adding their own taste to it, instead of conforming to the so-called, 'Average English'.

Another thing I noticed about Texas is their cuisine. Imma give y'all a small quiz: What food do you think Texas is known for? If you guessed Chilli related foods, you are absolutely correct. Every state has a state food, with Texas having: Chili Con Carne. To further explain what their state food is, it is essentially chili meat sauce that contains, chili peppers, meat, and often tomatoes and beans that goes well with bread, rice, and much more! Writing about it alone already makes my mouth water up, and there is no doubt that I'm going to get another bowl of rice filled with Chili Con Carne. Although I'm going to be drenched in my sweat once I finish, I'm absolutely certain that all drops of sweat are going to be 100% worth it. Let's go! Spicyy!
